Forward Reference Designation Annotation
How to change the Reference Designation in OrCAD Schematics so that it is reflected in Allegro PCB.
It often happens that you go on adding components in the Orcad which do not increase sequentially. As a result you may have reference designation like C735, even though an earlier reference designation like C10 is avaiable. Changing reference designation in Orcad Schematics that gets reflected in PCB is also called forward annotation.
What you need to do is change the reference designation in OrCAD. But you need to be careful when generating the netlist. The Key while generating the netlist is to select "if same" for "place changed components".
