PCB Trace Resistance Calculator
The PCB Trace resistance is directly proportional to the length of the wire and inversly proportional to the area of the cross section of the wire. It also increases with the increase in temperature.
Following is the formula for calculating the resistance of PCB trace
Resistance = [Resistivity*Length/Area]*(1 + (Thermal_Coeff*(temp - 20))
Where,
Resistivity = 6.787 x 10-7 Ohm - inch
Area = Width (w) x Thickness (t)
Thermal_Coeff = .0039 ohm / degC
