PCB Trace Resistance Calculator

The PCB Trace resistance is directly proportional to the length of the wire and inversly proportional to the area of the cross section of the wire. It also increases with the increase in temperature.

Following is the formula for calculating the resistance of PCB trace

Resistance = [Resistivity*Length/Area]*(1 + (Thermal_Coeff*(temp - 20))

Where,

Resistivity = 6.787 x 10-7 Ohm - inch

Area = Width (w) x Thickness (t)

Thermal_Coeff = .0039 ohm / degC

Enter the values and hit Res Button to calculate the Resistance.

w Width in inches
t Thickness in inches
l length in inch
temp temp in deg C
  (Resistance in Ohms )
