I think it is just the beginning. If the social networks without any signification value add beside "network" can have huge valuation, then the networks for specific cause & value add(often niches) can have significant power in near future. A network around digg.com, a network around eZdia.com, a network around slideshare.net can have huge impacts in overall knowledge sharing & screening right information.
