5 Ways you can use eZdia

July 6th, 2009

Many people use eZdia to form a partnership or to get a job or to get a freelancing work. It works very good because it is website of professionals and experts and getting connected is very useful especially for businesses and for getting part time or freelancing work.

However ezdia is under-utilized by many people,  so I am giving you a top five list of ways you can utilise eZdia.

1. Make yourself Visible.

You should add as many connections as possible. You should also get known to others and comment and comminicate with them. If you find something good about their profile send him a comment or a message. By connecting to more people, you are more likely to secure a freelancing work. There is a likelyhood that people will look for someone in their connection to get their work done.

2. Improve your connectability.

Most new users put very little about their present and past company in their profile.  The less details you include the less likely you are able to connect to other people. You should fill out your profile as an expert. You should include details of the technologies you have worked on including all the keywords that represent you.

You can also include a link to your profile as part of an email signature. The added benefit is that the link enables people to see all your credentials, which would be awkward if not downright strange, as an attachment.

3.  Improve your Searcheability in eZdia

eZdia allows you to be searcheable using its own patented search engine. To increase the ability to be searched, make sure that you write your profile in detail. Use the Knowledge bucket feature of eZdia to connect yourself to the urls that best represents your expertise. You should also strengthen the visibility of your ezdia profile page in search engines by using your profile link in various places. Use your ezdia profile link when when you comment in a blog. Include a link to your profile in the forums you join. Set the ezdia profile link in your signature.

4. Take help from Ezdia Expert

Use eZdia to ask questions to experts. Many experts will be able to answer your question for free if it does not take too much of their time. Do not expect the eZdia expert to do a complete research for you for free. Note that you will have to see which relevant expert is available online who can help you.

As an example, here are some questions you can aks a eZdia expert

* What is the use of knowledge bucket at ezdia ?
* Which of the technologies – JAVA or PHP should I use for my banking software
* Can you suggest me how to increase the page rank of a restaurant website.

5. Find relevant person to get your job done

Use eZdia’s patented search engine fo find people with educational and work experience that will best solve the problem that you have in hand. As an example you have a large project that requires small Action Script in your website. Your present programmer can do that, but, will take too much of time to learn it. Use eZdia to search for an Action Script Expert and take his help for a small money. In the long run he will save you much more than what you will be paying to your own programmer.

Professional Networking and Freelancing

Professional Networking and Freelancing

Networking webites come under two categories – social networking and Professional networking. They cater to different masses and serve different purpose. Social networking tools and site enable people to communicate with one another online for whatsoever reasons. People build up their profiles on these social networking sites and find someone with common interest and build relationships.

When building social networking profile the aim is often different than that of the professional networking websites. The characteristics of the social networking profiles is different from that of the professional networking websites. Facebook comes somewhere between pure social networking and pure professional networking. LinkedIn comes under professional networking site.
LinkedIn mainly has profiles of professionals supporting one another in business or in jobs.  It’s a great site to get to know many people in your profession and business.  But if you’re pushing your products sale here, you’re not likely to find much success.   Another popular site eZdia comes under professional networking and has some distinctive features of content association and knowledge bucket.

Many times people start using these tools in a similar fashion. The reason is that they are accustomed to one networking site and expect the similar when they see another networking website. Take for example eZdia . They assume that it is same as that of the LinkedIn. While this is true that both of them are used for professional networking, ezdia has searcheability option where you can search for a particular expert and take his professional help. Ezdia also has the concept of content association. The content association and knowledge bucket make a person searcheable. You can also make money by trading your expertise at networking sites. The networking site eZdia is going to come up with such a tool soon.

By mindfully using networking sites that serves your purpose you’ll experience more success in your goal.  What do you think?  What tools do you use. Did you try eZdia ? I would like to hear your thoughts too.

LinkedIn Vs Facebook Vs eZdia

LinkedIn Vs Facebook Vs eZdia

Many people have been discussing about analogies and differences between LinkedIn and Facebook. With the launch of eZdia, this comparison takes and interesting turn. People are debating which three of these systems will succeed in terms of getting jobs especially part time job and freelancing work.

What do Facebook, LinkedIn and eZdia offer to the average business person? Here’s my quick answer…

LinkedIn

If you are a proffessional and have a resume LinkedIn is for you. Once you set up your profile in LinkedIn you do not do much maintainence and update. It is more or less an online version of your resume. You do get some recommendations, but that does not happen much often Use Linked in to get professional recommendations. Use linked in to grow your business or professional network.

Facebook

Facebook is slightly less for jobs and professional or business network and has more to do with your networking with your college buddies. Facebook was designed for that does a good job here. Facebook is more personal than professional. Not that it can not be used to promote professional interests. You can still benfit from posting events.  But this was not designed that way.

eZdia

eZdia gives a new angle to networking. If you are an expert and a professional and you can give advices on the topic of your expertise, eZdia is for you. You want to be able to be searched for your expertise, it is for you. People will search you for your expertise and will seek your help. It is more similar to LinkedIN than to Facebook. It does have a space for getting recommendations – similar to LinkedIn. It also gives you ability to “trade” your expertise and make money for your expertise. Since it has been launched only recently, it is a very small userbase.

With many opinions going on about LinkedIN, Facebook and eZdia, I hope that my anaysis provide you ability to choose the best among the three that suites your purpose.

Slow computer problem in Vista

July 2nd, 2009

I had purchased a Core 2 Duo based computer. Man it was fast. Turn it on and and the windows screen will come quick. The internet was fast. Then slowly and gradually it will slow down over the time. It was the same machine. Same operating system. Why did it slow down ? This is not my question and your question. This is everyone’s question. Everyone faces this problem. The computer goes so slow that you feel like throwing it away.

Let me try to explain what causes it.

When the computer is new, it is fresh. There is no much software in it. Even antivirus software is not installed in it. Then you install some softwares. Then you install antivirus which slows it down a little bit.  After using the computer for a while you install new programs. Some of those programs and games are set to load when Windows boots up and takes up valuable memory and system time by running in the background.

You also get viruses and spyware from surfing the net, checking e-mail, and downloading stuff. Over time those viruses will make  Windows that could cause it to slow and not perform at its best. Spyware will take up memory and system time. This is the cause of most people’s computers loosing speed.

Also your file may get disfragmented over the time. The disgfragmented files makes the hard disk slow over the time.

I will also discuss how to fix these issues yourself.
