Analysis of Web Traffic – September 2009

October 3rd, 2009

It has been a while since I have been writing blogs on reference designer. Besides the blog, there are few tutorial sections on referencedesigner that people have found useful – especially those belonging to the Allegro PCB Design, PADS PowerPCB Design and OrCAD Schematics. The Signal Integrity tutorial is another area where people have found this website useful.

I am also pleasantly surprised with the usefulness of the numerous calculators, including conversion calculators that RF Designers and PCB Designers have used extensively.

My software tutorials including javascript tuorial, html tutorial have not picked up. There are numerous other websites that already have these materials. It is difficult to optimize these pages for SEO.The C# tutorial gets some decent traffic.

More recently, I have been more active on my blogs and it seems to be drawing good amount of traffic. After I integrated the related post plugin, people seem to be spending more time on my blogs.

It is the first time, I am making my data public. Here is my September traffic data.

The traffic has picked up during the last three days of September. This is mostly because several of the calculator paged were de-indexed when my website was down for few days in August. These were re indexed after some backlinks were created.

If you are curious about other details of the traffic.

The 71.22% traffic came from the search engine. I essentially do not do anything much to market my blogs or webpages. There is some degree of search engine optimization and a bit of backlink creation. Other than that I spend most of the time in writing blogs.
